The Austrian concert pianist obtained her Master’s degree at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and continued her studies at the Queen Elisabeth College of Music in Brussels with the Artemis Quartet. A prize-winner at numerous competitions, she gave her first solo concert with the Plovdiv Philharmonic at age ten. Donka Angatscheva collaborates with major symphony orchestras and performs on world-renowned stages, including the Vienna Philharmonic, the Bayreuth Chamber Orchestra, the Vogtland Symphony Orchestra, the Tyrolean Symphonic Winds, the Plovdiv Philharmonic and many other orchestras. She has performed on major stages worldwide, including the Golden Hall of the Vienna Musikverein, the Vienna Konzerthaus, the Liszt Centre in Raiding, concert halls of Olten, Madrid, Málaga, Brussels, Sofia, Thessaloniki, Menton, Montpellier and Quito. With her piano trio, Trio D’Ante, she has delighted audiences and critics alike. In 2019, she was inducted as a Bösendorfer Artists, and honoured with the art-st-urban classics (Switzerland) Sponsorship Award and was honoured with the Golden Spring Award for her performance at the Vienna Musikverein with the Vienna Philharmonic. Her discography now comprises nine CDs on labels such as Naxos, Ars Produktion, Gramola and Hitsquad Records. She is a sought-after jury member at international competitions and masterclass leader. In 2023, she was named Woman of the Year by the Austrian by Look magazine. She founded the initiative “Die Kunst in Österreich lebt weiter”(Art in Austria Lives On), promoting Austrian artists. In November 2025, she was elected President of the International Chopin Society in Vienna. On 30 September 2025, she was honoured by the Republic of Austria with the Golden Decoration of Honour for Services to the Republic of Austria.
