“Xavier de Maistre is a virtuoso of the highest order, profoundly musical and capable of realising a remarkable range of nuance.”
Gramophone
Xavier de Maistre is one of the leading harpists of our time and a deeply innovative musician. A passionate advocate for his instrument, he has significantly expanded the harp repertoire by commissioning new works from contemporary composers, while also creating transcriptions of major instrumental masterpieces.
The 2025/26 season is marked by the release of his Handel album with the Festival Strings Lucerne on Sony Classical, followed by concert appearances at renowned venues including Hamburg’s Elbphilharmonie, the Konzerthaus Berlin, Cologne Philharmonie, Alte Oper Frankfurt, KKL Lucerne, Stuttgart Liederhalle, Staatstheater Braunschweig, Brucknerhaus Linz, and Stadttheater Olten.
Other highlights of the season include performances with leading orchestras and conductors, among them the Budapest Festival Orchestra under David Robertson, the Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra under Sebastian Weigle in Tokyo, and the Munich Chamber Orchestra. He will present the carte blanche project De Maistre & Friends with Rolando Villazón, Lucero Tena, and Magali Mosnier at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, before returning there later in the season with Camerata Salzburg during Mozart Week. Throughout the season, Xavier de Maistre will also appear in recital with his imaginative programmes, including the duo programme Serenata Latina with Rolando Villazón and Nuits Fantastiques with Lambert Wilson.
