The announcement came as a surprise to the coryphée of the Hungarian National Ballet during the curtain call following the 8 June performance of The Sleeping Beauty. The swan-shaped award, crafted by the Herend Porcelain Manufactory, was presented by ballet director Tamás Solymosi in the presence of the company and to the acclaim of the audience.

During the past season, Auguste Marmus has performed his corps de ballet duties to a consistently high standard in both classical and contemporary productions. He has also demonstrated his technical accomplishment and dedication in major soloist roles, including the Prince in The Nutcracker and Lensky in Onegin.

Following his studies at the Royal Swedish Ballet School, the young coryphée graduated from the Vaganova Academy in St Petersburg. He subsequently joined the junior company of the Bavarian State Ballet and also spent a season as an apprentice with the main company. Since 2023, he has been a member of the ballet company of the Hungarian State Opera.

The title of Chamber Artist of the Hungarian National Ballet may be awarded to a ballet dancer or ballet master who regularly contributes to the creation and presentation of OPERA productions and whose talent and work result in an outstanding artistic achievement during the season.
